Why Dont I Ever Hear From Truckers?

If you're tired of placing ads, leaving messages, or sending emails, there's good news. You're doing the right things, just not doing them often enough! Simply put, the basics you're doing need to be tweaked up a bit, and here's how:

PERSEVERE
Hooking up with a trucker via the web is like playing lotto. The more you play, the better your chances of winning. Don't expect to get a flood of replies with one email, or one ad, or one message board posting. Advertise - advertise - advertise! Repetition and perseverence are key.

PICTURES GET YOU NOTICED
An ad with a photo is 10 times more likely to be noticed than an ad without a photo. I can't make it any clearer.

PHONE NUMBERS WORK
While email and text messaging are the wave of the future, most truckers aren't driving around with a computer keyboard on their laps. Use a phone number a trucker can call you at when he's out on the road with no access to a computer or the internet. Worried about privacy? Twenty dollars at most any big retail store will get you one of those prepaid cellphones that don't ask you for your personal information.

YOU GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT
If you only post a hook-up message once a month, don't expect the offers and invitations to come flooding your voicemail. Some hookup sites recommend sending out simple emails or posting simple hookup messages at least once a day. (Some go as far as asking you to send out 10 messages to guarantee a reply!) But that's up to you.

Little, or no effort gets you little or no action.

Chasers Lose Touch With Reality

From an older blog posting... moved it here to save space on my webpage.

It happens to all of us.
We get so wrapped up in our fantasies that reality takes a distant second place in what we perceive to be our priorities in life. Nowhere is this more prevalent than in the Personal Ads I review and post for the website.
The personal ads I receive leave me wondering how many guys out there really know what it's like to be out on the road trying to earn a living. The only time we really think about truckers is when we hear the news say something like there was an accident "involving a tractor-trailer." (Unfortunately, the news never lets us know the trucker did his best to avoid the accident where 8 out 10 times, the four-wheeler is at fault.)
When we see a trucker on the road, our crotch stirs and we envision studly cowboys like the men in the old Marlboro commercials groping and grabbing us like in a cheap 70s porn. I'm sorry, what was I saying?
Oh yeah! To date, my favorite ad representing the seriously out-of-touch world we live in, says something like "chaser looking to be kidnapped at work, bound in trucker's sleeper, and used by truckers from one end of the country to the other." Wow. That's just wrong on so many levels. The sad part is not only will this ad get few replies, but when someone who is genuinely interested in doing something like this contacts this man, the guy will undoubtedly have come off his hardon and realize he wasn't serious about any of this. That wastes everybody's time!
Please, gents - keep it real.
